Just Like Him

#FaithDaily Just Like Him
1 John 2:6 (AMP): “Whoever says he lives in Christ [that is, whoever says he has accepted Him as God and Savior] ought [as a moral obligation] to walk and conduct himself just as He walked and conducted Himself.”

The late Billy Graham once said, “To say you believe in Him and then continue living as though nothing has changed, is to deny the power of God in your life.” Once we have surrendered our lives to Jesus, and His Spirit becomes one with ours, we desire to be just like Him! While He was on earth, Jesus significantly impacted lives wherever He went. His purpose was to accurately reflect and display the nature of God, His Father.

Jesus didn’t abandon His assignment when He lost popularity or faced opposition. He stayed true to His call by keeping His heart engaged in what was on His Heavenly Father’s heart. He stayed intimately and inseparably in unity with Him, representing Him well. We are called to impact the world for God in the same manner. We do this by living just like Jesus did – remaining intimately connected to the father.

As we intentionally choose to draw nearer to God, spending time in His Word and presence, we are transformed to be more and more like Him. We are called to stand out, preach the Good News and demonstrate the works of the Father – just as Jesus did. Our intimacy with the Lord not only empowers us to represent Him well, it causes us to demonstrate a life forever changed by the power of His love!
