Within you is a fountain of life! Jesus, in Revelation 21:6 says, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I [Myself] will give water without price from the fountain (springs) of the water of Life.” What a wonderful truth – we have living water flowing inside us! What’s more, according to Ephesians 1:3, we have been “blessed in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm!” This sounds like we are set for a good, satisfied life.
Now, Satan isn’t going to let us have that life without a fight. He tries to block the wells of living water and blessing from flowing in our spirits by convincing us to accept his lies and open our hearts to bitterness, jealousy, hatred, resentment, unforgiveness, fear, and offense. All of these are “fountain-of-life blockers”! They plug up the fountain that flows directly from the Spirit of God into our lives.
To ensure you don’t fall prey to any of his devices, learn to recognise and resist any thoughts that lure you towards entertaining these things in your life – irrespective of how justifiable they may seem. The devil knows you can’t live abundantly and bless your world effectively when you’re angry, resentful and bitter. Today, choose to remain wholeheartedly submitted to God and resist the devil when he tries to plant the wrong thoughts in your mind. When you do, he will flee from you; and that fountain of life will flow freely in and through you again!
