This message from the Lord, through the prophet Isaiah, was to a nation that battled with rebellion. This was a people who had repeatedly been rescued from their enemies, only to fall right back into the trap of some form of unbelief, murmuring, and rebellion. Yet, in spite of this perpetual seesaw behaviour, the intent of the Father towards them never changed.
He wanted their hearts. He wanted them to believe in and trust Him to be everything they would ever need or want. He is the source of life and everything pertaining to it, and He created us to be the receivers and reciprocals of Himself in this world. The enemy’s mode of operation has always been to steal, to kill and to destroy every single thing concerning us that resembles God, the source of life. He uses every tactic to distract us from being anchored in the source of life – the Person of Jesus Christ.
It’s not just a good idea to remain in God’s Presence and be in constant communion with Him – it is life-saving and life-giving. Whatever ‘urgent’ requirements are demanding your attention today, take a moment to block it all out and connect with the Spirit of God, Who empowers you. As long as you are anchored in Him, you will never run short.
