Be a Witness

When Andrew started following Jesus, he had an urgency within him to immediately go and tell his brother, Simon, that He had found the promised Messiah. For so many years the Hebrew nation had been bullied and enslaved by other nations; now, finally, the One who would redeem them and give them victory over their enemies had come! There was no way Andrew could keep this to himself!

Of course we understand what Andrew later realised about Jesus. He did come to redeem His people and give them victory – just not in the way they expected. Jesus came for the benefit of all mankind. He came to set us all free from the leverage the devil had over us. We have been gloriously set free from the bondage of sin, and slavery to emotional, physical and mental torment.

Just like it was for Andrew, we should have an overwhelming urgency to tell others the Good News! The glorious truth is the Holy Spirit baptizes us with fire – giving us a supernatural boldness, creative ideas, and practical wisdom to be effective witnesses for Jesus. Yield to His leading today, as you unashamedly tell others about what Jesus has done for you, and that He will do the same for them too.
