The Bible says God’s Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Without taking its practical wisdom to heart, we really are walking in darkness. In the world around us, nothing is so dependable it will last forever, or so secure it will never fail. Only God’s Word can be that for us! When we embrace it wholeheartedly and determine to walk in its ways, it will ensure we succeed in every endeavour of life.
The ultimate purpose of following after God and His ways is to become more like Him. Romans 8:28-30 says living a life worthy of pleasing God by conforming to His image and walking in His ways is what we have been called to do, and equipped for. Keeping our eyes and hearts set on this purpose will certainly protect us from choosing any path of destruction.
Each day, the choice is ours to walk in God’s perfect will or not. Wisdom says it’s well worth our effort to consider well the path we choose, and that the benefits are both undeniable, and incomparable!
