For years we’ve heard people say we aren’t meant to know God’s thoughts because they are too high for us to understand. But according to scripture, that’s just not true. In Isaiah 55:8-9, God says his thoughts and ways are higher than ours; and then in 1 Corinthians 2:16, because of the finished work of the cross, it says we now have the mind of Christ and hold the thoughts, feelings, and purposes of His heart.
That’s because His Spirit lives within us, and He makes His written word, which holds His thoughts and ways, alive to us. The Holy Spirit, not content to skim the surface, dives deep into the depths of God, and brings out the truth of Who God is and all the wonderful things He has planned for us – in Him – since the beginning of time.
Through intimacy with the Holy Spirit, we can freely enjoy the bottomless wisdom of God and the secrets of His heart. What a tremendous treasure we have in knowing Him this way. Our lives become enriched and transformed as we search out the riches of His heart and mind.
