Find Him

The Message translation of this verse says God made us “so we could seek after Him, and not just grope around in the dark but actually find Him. He doesn’t play hide-and-seek with us. He’s not remote; He’s near.” Simply put, God’s promises concerning our relationship with Him is that if we seek Him wholeheartedly, we will not be disappointed because we will find Him. The key to seeking God is to do so with all our heart. This means with our inner man (spirit), our mind, our will, and our affections. Courageously seeking after God’s heart will never lead to shame or disappointment from being denied. Our Heavenly Father wants a living, intimate relationship with us – way more than we can even begin to comprehend. Not only does God draw near to us when we draw near to Him (James 4:8a), but there is no good thing that he will withhold from us as we sincerely and uprightly walk with Him. So as you draw near to Him today, expect His Presence to be made real to you. Expect His Word to transform you, and His wisdom and peace to flow to you. He is very near, and He wants you to actually find Him.
