Focus on the Word
If there’s one thing believers must be vigilant to ensure, it’s to consistently focus on the Word of God. That day, when Peter focussed on Jesus – the Word made flesh – he remained above the rough waters. The trouble came as soon as he switched his focus from Jesus to the angry waves around him. That simple change of perspective changed everything. One moment he was defying the laws of nature, the next he became subject to them, as he began to sink.

Just the same, when we remain focused on the Word of God and anchored in its truth, we stay above the circumstances. Our hearts and minds remain protected in peace while our faith causes the Word to go to work on our behalf. As soon as we focus on the trouble instead of the promises of God, we begin to sink. Today, make the decision to focus on God’s Word; let it lift you above the trouble and keep you walking in victory.
