It’s no mystery that human wisdom is always inferior to Godly wisdom. Which is why the Lord calls us to a place where we are able to draw from His wisdom instead of relying on our own. In Jeremiah 3:33, God invited the prophet to inquire of Him so that He could show him things beyond his own human knowledge and understanding. It says, “Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, which you do not know (do not distinguish and recognise, have knowledge of and understand).” In the book of James we are told that the wisdom of God is not only for us, it is readily available to us when we simply come to the Lord and ask Him for it. Since the Spirit of God abides in us, His wisdom does too. We have been given the mind of Christ! However, to access the flow of His supernatural wisdom, we are required to turn our attention to Him to receive it. While our thoughts are being distracted by the things in the natural realm, we remain in proximity to the enemy’s voice. His words will always lead us towards a path of compromise by reason, and never faith. There is a higher place we can fix our minds on, a place away from the distractions that are purposed to lead us into error. That place is being in God’s presence and in His Word. As we meditate on His truth, it will cause the flow of His wisdom and peace to rise up from His Spirit within us – and come into our souls. That supernatural flow fills our thoughts and touches our emotions, so that we can make the choices and decisions that will lead to life and success. The more we become skilled in controlling the direction of our thought life, the less intimidated we become by the voice of the enemy. In fact, we will learn to recognise what is of the spirit and what is of the flesh almost immediately, because our thoughts are consistently renewed to God’s thoughts, and we become aquatinted with His ways. Become skilful in your thought life and you will never have to fear making the wrong choices, because you know the voice of the Spirit and follow His lead.
