God Always Confirms His Word

We read in the Book of 1 Kings about a contest that took place on Mount Carmel. God instructed the Prophet Elijah to have King Ahab gather together the people of Israel, along with the prophets of Baal and Asherah.  Then Elijah was to challenge the people as to how long they would waver between the false gods and the One true God. He declared that this was the day they would need to decide which they would serve. The contest between God and the false gods was on! Whichever was true would answer by fire – a supernatural demonstration to confirm their authenticity – which is exactly what happened! While no response came from Baal or Asherah, the Lord God caused a roaring fire to consume the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench.  Elijah had obeyed the word of the Lord Who in turn confirmed His word with a mighty demonstration of power (1 Kings 18:36-38).  As we work in partnership with our covenant God, we should constantly remind ourselves that He will always confirm His word with the demonstration of supernatural power (Mark 16:20; 1 Corinthians 2:4).  Faith filled obedience will be met with His supernatural working in our lives. We serve a God who is not limited by the natural things of this world, and is always ready and willing to not only hear our prayers, but to answer them in power! Place your full confidence in your God Who always confirms His word supernaturally!
