#FaithDaily God’s Fullness is Your New Identity!
Colossians 1:19-20 (TPT): “For God is satisfied to have all His fullness dwelling in Christ. And by the blood of His cross, everything in heaven and earth is brought back to Himself—back to its original intent, restored to innocence again!”
In the beginning, we were created in God, to be in perfect unity with Him on the earth. But sin separated us from being one with Him. The only way to reconcile us back to our original intent was through the sacrifice of an innocent man, who was without sin.
The Bibles says that even though the fullness of God dwelled permanently in Him, when Jesus came to this earth, He emptied Himself of His outward glory by reducing Himself to the form of a humble servant. He became that human sacrifice (Philippians 2:6-7). In accepting Jesus and all He did for us, it’s possible for us to be perfectly one with God again! 1 Corinthians 6:17 says, “But the person who is united to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him.”
We are one with God because Jesus Christ is God, possessing the fullness of God, and His Spirit now lives in us (Galatians 2:20)! This means we have access to all that God is (1 Corinthians 2:12 & Romans 8:11). Since this is your new identity, trust the Holy Spirit to teach you to walk in who God says you are. Give yourself to spending quality time with Him in His Word – it is alive and has the power to transform whoever receives and believes it!
