Grace in Unjust Suffering

Are you being treated unfairly because of the stand you’ve made for Christ? Standing your ground for what you know is right, while everyone else seems to believe otherwise, can be very disheartening – especially when you’re made to suffer for it. The Bible calls it commendable if we suffer unjustly for the Gospel. Some translations call it grace.

Why? When we do what is right, keeping our eyes fixed on the loving, compassionate nature of Jesus, and our hearts remain firmly rooted in the truth of His Word; no matter how cruel the opposition, the overflow of God’s supernatural grace for us far outweighs the unjust suffering. The Bible says in these moments, becoming more conscious of God than anything else causes us to bear up under the pain of unjust suffering.

The scriptures are full of people, including Jesus, who chose to trust God completely, never turning to verbal or physical abuse to those who treated them unfairly. Follow their example and you will find God’s grace is more than enough to keep you strong and true, no matter how unjust the suffering.
