What do you do when you are upset, or scared, or need help? Many of us first verbalize our pain and frustration by complaining, giving wings to our upset emotions through words. Which, in truth, prolongs our victory.  In Bible times, David declared his recourse in trouble in the Psalms. He said, “You are my hiding place; You will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.” (Psalm 32:7). He also wrote, “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the Name of the LORD our God.” (Psalm 20:7). There is a completely illogical peace that settles when we call on God (His Name, His Word, and His Holy Spirit) as our salvation. He is faithful, even if we are faithless, because He cannot deny His own righteous character (2 Timothy 2:13). He can be trusted to comfort, protect, heal and restore in ways we cannot fathom. In John 14:26, Jesus said this of the Holy Spirit: “But the Comforter (Counsellor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.” Jesus said that whenever we need a place of comfort and safety, to receive clarity and Godly wisdom concerning anything we face in this life – His own Holy Spirit would be the One to turn to. He will be our constant standby, always ready to pour whatever we need into our souls from our spirit-man where He abides. Never neglect to acknowledge and turn to the gift you have been given in Christ Jesus – His Name, His Word and His Own Spirit will become the refuge that keeps you safe, strong, and high above evil!
