Imprinted in Your Mind

The third chapter of the book of Joel is prophetic and speaks to God’s final judgement and rule. A people who was oppressed, scattered, and subjected to severe cruelty under the hands of their enemies are called to rise up from their position of weakness, and become strong in the Lord. The Word teaches that under the New Covenant, we have authority and a sure victory over our enemy the devil.  While we walk with God, keep ourselves filled with His power, and consistently renew our minds to the truth of His Word – victory will be our experience.

The key to living in this place of perpetual victory, is to meditate on the truth of God’s Word. That’s because meditating involves imagination. Just like Abraham did, we must take God’s promises and instructions and imagine them being a part of our lives. The prophet Joel used descriptive analogies that made it easy for God’s people to imagine rising up strong in the Lord to defeat their enemies. This stirred up hope, faith, and extreme courage inside them. They believed themselves to be what they imagined in their minds, based on the truth of God’s Word. Let God’s truth become your reality as you meditate on it today.
