In Ephesians 5:18-19, Paul instructs us to be continuously filled with the Holy Spirit, and as we are, we will make melody with all our hearts to the Lord. That spontaneous song of thankfulness that flows from within is released in our words of praise to the Lord. Hallelujah! What a wonderful testimony it is to others when in spite of difficulties or trials, our joy and peace and hope is not altered, but instead keeps bubbling up from our spirits – keeping us in a place of overcoming victory! Then in the book of Colossians, Paul tells us to let the Word of Christ dwell richly in us, in all wisdom.  As we continually meditate on God’s Word and it abides in our hearts, it begins a flow of grace from within our spirits. The original Greek text says we make melody to God with His grace in our hearts! In other words, the Word of God that is abiding in us produces grace. Grace is His supernatural empowerment. One translation says grace is God’s Devine influence on our hearts that is reflected in our lives! His Word is alive, and it is powerful, and when we allow it to dwell in us richly – it’s going to have a powerful, transforming effect that is visible to all! In fact, every time we open our mouths, that grace is going to flow in our conversations with others and in our speaking to the Lord. Did you know that when we keep saying what God says – those things will be established in our lives. The book of Hebrews says Jesus is the high priest of our confession – He personally watches over our words to see that they produce exactly what we say. Only, these can’t be words that are void of faith. We must be fully persuaded that they are the truth, and that God will do exactly what He said He would do. According to Scripture – this kind of faith pleases the Lord greatly! So be sure to keep God’s Word alive in your heart so that His transforming grace continues to flow in and through your life!
