Let the Blood Plead Your Cause

Every benefit and blessing we possess because of our redemption, including victory over the devil, is based on Jesus triumphing over him at the cross. Because of the shed blood of Jesus – we never have to be under the devil’s domain, neither will we ever be slaves to the nature-to-sin again! Believing in the power of the blood of Jesus is believing in our covenant rights of protection against the enemy, and his accusations against us. However, if we in any way let our faith guard down, by lessening our attention to the Word; or if we pull away from our vital, intimate fellowship with the Lord – we give room to the enemy to influence our thoughts and put a hook of deception into our souls. Unchecked, that deception will lead to sin. Sin unchecked will lead to the devil’s legal right to mess with us. In John 15 Jesus tells us to abide in Him so our lives produce good fruit, and any unfruitful part of us will be pruned off. Keeping us living in a way that resembles what the blood purchased for us. Our vital connection with Jesus and His Word is directly linked to our covenant right to plead the blood. The term, ‘to plead’, means to conduct a legal case. In 1 Samuel 24:15, David called on the Lord to plead his cause when Saul was pursuing his life. He said, “May the Lord be judge and judge between me and you, and see and plead my cause, and deliver me out of your hands.” The blood of Jesus pleads our cause every time the enemy tries to pull a fast one on us. It has established an everlasting position of righteousness with God for us. Decide to live in a way that reflects that position, by walking uprightly before the Lord. This way the devil will have no legal right to harass you, and the Lord Himself, will not allow any bad fruit to be produced in you.
