Consistency is Key

There are spiritual laws that when consistently set in motion, will carry an unstoppable momentum in our lives. Now, depending on how we use these laws, will determine the results they will most certainly produce for us – whether good or bad. One of these spiritual laws is the power of our words. Proverbs 18:21 tells us life and death are in the power of the tongue; and Job 22:28 says that when we declare a thing, it will be established for us. I once heard Pastor Nancy Dufresne relate a story told by Kenneth Hagin. It was about a young man who lay dying in hospital, in a coma, at the age of 39. Brother Hagin was asked to pray for the man to be healed. When he went to lay hands on him, the Spirit of the Lord stopped him. He told him to take his hands off and not pray for the man, but to rather release him to come to heaven. When brother Hagin inquired of the Lord why, he was told that a spiritual law had been set in motion that could not be reversed at that particular time. Later, when brother Hagin spoke to the man’s brother about it, he was told that from time to time, the young man would state that he would not live past 40. His mind was set on this notion, and he was consistent in speaking it out. The spiritual law of the power of the tongue was set in motion and had created a momentum in his life. Had he not been in the comma – he may have had the faith to repent and release the correct confession, which could well have saved his life. However, one singular statement may not have the power to completely reverse what has consistently been put into motion. It’s crucial that we become consistent at setting spiritual laws in motion in our lives that align with God’s will for us. As we do, they will cause a momentum of life and peace that not even the devil will be able to stop or reverse concerning us. Keep your mind consistently renewed to God’s way of thinking. Your words will follow what your mind is consistently set on, and your life will reflect those words. Remember, the choice of life and death, blessing and cursing is yours to make, whichever you are consistent with, will be your outcome – so keep choosing life, and you will live.
