We cannot call things the way they are and expect them to change. If there are things in your life, or in your family that are contrary to what the Word of God has promised then stop complaining about them and start speaking what the Word says they should be. God’s Word is alive and powerful! When we speak it boldly out of our mouths it becomes a weapon of faith against every circumstance that doesn’t line up with the Word. It’s not enough to just believe with our hearts – we must speak out our convictions too. That’s because while faith has the power to bring change to every circumstance, that power is only released through our words! 2 Corinthians 4:13 says, “And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, ‘I believed and therefore I spoke,’ we also believe and therefore speak.” The bible promises that the expectation of the righteous will not be cut off (Proverbs 23:18). We need to be guarding our mouths and watching that the words we speak are absolutely in line with what God’s Word says! Our words carry great power, the bible says death and life are in the power of the tongue, (Proverbs 18:21) and the person who guards their mouth preserves their life (Proverbs 13:3). Believers should be using words to build people up and not tear them down. We should be declaring righteousness, and peace over our lives, over our families and over our communities. The Bible says the words of our mouths and the meditation of our hearts need to be pleasing to God and acceptable in His sight. Faith is what pleases God and so we should be speaking words of faith. Real evidence of what we have been laying up in our hearts is revealed through what comes out of our mouths. And the very things that come into our lives are results of the things we have been speaking. So if we have been keeping the truth of God’s Word in our hearts, our words will be full of life and faith, and as a result, those words become seeds that go out and produce a harvest of whatever we have been saying! Which is why we must put a guard over our mouths and refuse to say anything we don’t want to reap! Remember, we live our lives by faith, not be the things which we see around us. Stop speaking the problem, look to the promises of God’s Word, and prophesy the solution into place.
