Our Delightful Inheritance

David also wrote in this psalm, “You are my portion and my cup; You make my lot secure.” David was speaking about the glorious inheritance he had in his covenant with the Lord.  Praise God, because of Jesus, we have received the same inheritance, only it’s been made even better, with better promises! It benefits us greatly to constantly and deliberately remind ourselves of it. Philemon 1:6 says our faith is made effective when we continuously acknowledge every good thing we have in Christ Jesus! If you find you are running low on faith, understand all you need to do is train yourself to be in the habit of meditating on the scriptures that educate you on your new life in Christ Jesus. Then the flow of faith from inside your spirit-man will begin to dominate your thoughts and words. As you speak these truths, from the conviction of your heart – you will walk in the reality of them! When we align our thoughts with the truth of God’s Word, our spirit-man will dominate over the flesh nature, causing that starved flesh to have little to no significance. In truth, we begin to see the Word we believe and speak begin to shape our lives and set new boundary lines that bring us to pleasant places of God’s favour and increase. Psalm 16 displays God’s full commitment to our individual well-being. He cares for us personally! As you give yourself to Him and His Word, you will experience how faithful He is to honour His Word concerning you – as you enjoy the full benefits of your delightful inheritance in Him!
