At the time of our salvation, the Bible explains how the Holy Spirit recreates our spirit-man, and then takes occupation of it! Then, when we receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the flow of His life and power in us is activated to flow like a mighty river in and through us! This power strengthens us in our inner-man to withstand every attack from the enemy and move forward in things of God! The word power used in this verse is translated dumanis in Greek. It’s described as an explosive, demonstrative power. It’s same power Jesus operated in when He healed the sick, cast out demons, opened blind eyes, and rose people from the dead! This dumanis power is designed to be placed into a vessel out of which it can flow. We have been created to be those vessels that carry this divine power. When God recreated our spirits, He made them fit and strong enough to house the full measure of God’s power inside us! That’s why 2 Corinthians 4:7 says, “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.”. When we recognise and acknowledge that we have a reservoir of God’s own unstoppable power inside of us – we will be able to tap into that explosive power and be strengthened to stand strong in the Lord and push on to victory in all He has called us to!
