Out With Sin

As a child of God, you have the right to confidently go before the Lord and ask Him whatever is on your heart! It’s very important that every believer understands that because of what Jesus has done for us on the cross, according to Hebrews 4:16, we are all able to draw near to His throne of grace, to receive help in our time of need. The Word of God is very clear on how to ask and receive from the Lord. James 4, tells us that we ask and don’t receive what we ask for when we ask amiss. That means there is a correct, biblical way to ask of the Lord and see the results, as well as an incorrect way. Our heart motives must be in line with His will and not for selfish gain that is outside of being a blessing to His kingdom purposes. If we are deliberately living in sin, or we are harbouring any grudges or unforgiveness towards anyone, our faith is inoperative. Until we repent, set those things right, and forgive – our prayers will not be answered. Examine your heart today, ask the Holy Spirit to identify the things that must be surrendered to Him, then pray confidently, knowing your prayers are not falling on deaf ears.
