Child of God, your praise carries power! The Bible reveals such a beautiful truth that God truly inhabits the praises of His people. A well-known preacher once said, “God answers our prayers, but LIVES in our praise!” According to the Word of God, our praise and thanksgiving lead us directly into the presence of God (Psalm 100:4). They are the intentional steps we take to strengthen ourselves in His manifest presence.
David’s heart was “fixed” on praising God. He understood how sustained thanks and praise kept his whole being alive to God’s presence. That’s why He blessed the Lord continually! It wasn’t a once off activity for him, but something he maintained – on purpose. Keep your thanksgiving and praise perpetual. David said his praise for God was always on his lips – and it showed! He was able to cultivate the atmosphere of heaven in every situation, and cause it to dominate his world because of it.
