Too many people have the idea that only when they see God come through for them in a particular area, will they have the mindset and belief to trust Him going forward. The truth is the power of God to shift and move circumstances comes from our faith in His Word first! Isaiah 55:11 tells us that God’s Word has the power to produce whatever it is purposed to do – without fail! The Word goes forth and creates, heals, provides, redeems, saves and makes the impossible possible. Even after the people of Israel witnessed the hand of God move mightily, time and again on their behalf, they still refused to change their minds about fully trusting His Word. Because they refused to believe in His credibility to do what He promised, they had no faith to enter the land He had waiting for them to occupy. An entire generation lived in close proximity to the promised land – but never actually entered it – because they did not believe His Word. In Matthew 16:4, Jesus told the religious leaders who were always asking Him to validate who He was, with some kind of sign from heaven, that only a wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign to validate their faith in God. In 2 Peter 1, Peter refers to the moment when he, James and John witnessed Jesus being transfigured before them. He became the true reflection of His glorious self, and they heard the Father’s voice from heaven declaring Him to be His Own Son. Even after seeing and hearing this, firsthand, Peter declared that the written Word of God is a surer and more reliable thing for us to hold onto. He said that as we fix our attention on the Word, it will always cut through the darkness and be our path to victory. When we meditate on the Word, our thoughts will conform to its truth, and faith that releases the miracle working power of God will begin to flow up from inside us. Settle your mind on the credibility of God’s Word today, and His mighty power will begin to flow into every area you need to see changed!
