Jesus declared that the devil had nothing in Him (John 14:30). He would not allow the enemy a single hold in His life. He immediately recognised a thought or idea that was in opposition to the truth of His Heavenly Father, resisted it, and replaced it with the correct one. As children of God and imitators of Christ, we are to follow Jesus’ example. In Ephesians 4:27, Paul says, “Leave no [such] room or foothold for the devil [give no opportunity to him].” We are responsible to keep a guard on what we allow into our hearts and minds.- 1 John 5:18 says,”but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him”; We can keep ourselves through the help of the Holy Spirit. The Word says He leads us into all truth! The more time we spend in the Word of God, the more the Holy Spirit reveals God’s truth to us and makes it alive in us. This way we become extremely sensitive to what is of God, and what is not. 1 John 5:18 says, “We know [absolutely] that anyone born of God does not [deliberately and knowingly] practice committing sin, but the One Who was begotten of God carefully watches over and protects him [Christ” divine presence within him preserves him against the evil], and the wicked one does not lay hold (get a grip) on him or touch [him].” Hallelujah! Yield to the Holy Spirit’s warnings, resist the devil, and he will flee from you!
