Stop Worrying While You Pray

The Bible teaches us that the prayer of faith is inoperable while we are harboring worry and doubt. Even having a pity party concerning our circumstances, repels the force of faith, and keeps us in a place of defeat. The truth is, while we hold onto feeling sorry for ourselves, we are unwittingly placing blame on God for allowing us to be in the sad state of affairs we are in. The Word of God teaches us that God is sovereign to His Word! He will never violate His promises. The book of Hebrews says He is bound to His Word concerning us (Hebrews 6:13-19). That means His will, is exactly what His Word promises us, and it is secured through the blood of Jesus. All we need to do is believe what His Word says about us and receive it through faith! God has already done whatever is needed for us to obtain His promises, our responsibility is to believe Him and speak those promises over our lives – without contaminating our faith with worry or doubt. Philippians 4:6 begins with a key instruction that must be adhered to before we pray about anything and everything! It says we are not to fret or worry or have any anxiety about anything! How do we deal with worry and doubt, and get it out of the way so that our prayers can be effective, and our faith decontaminated? We repent of the sin of worry and mistrust. And then we take every single care, anxiety, worry and concern, and cast them onto the Lord! We do this knowing full well that He cares deeply for us and wants to see us prosper and live in the fullness of His blessing – in every area of our lives! Then we take what His Word says concerning our situation and pray it over our lives – thanking Him for His faithfulness to perform it. Until those promises become our reality, we refuse to worry but remain thankful – praising God and delighting ourselves in Him. This is how we remain worry free and full of faith – confidently expecting the Word to accomplish its work on our behalf!
