God gave a message, through the prophet Isaiah, to Ahaz the king of Judah concerning a scheme being devised by two kings to attack him. God told Ahaz he had no need to fear the fierce anger of “those two burned-out embers” that were plotting against him (Isaiah 7:4, NLT). No matter how ferocious or intimidating the challenges we face in this world, if we belong to the Lord and are walking in His ways, we will always have a vantage point.
The Word promises in 2 Corinthians 2:14 that God always leads us in triumph when we are in Christ Jesus. This is His promise; it’s what He has committed Himself to do for us. Our part is to stand firm in our faith. We must trust in the Lord and His faithfulness to honour His Word. When we are convinced of this truth, our faith is unshakable. If not, we will quickly become overwhelmed by our circumstances and give room for fear to lead us to despair.
Today, resolve to keep your eyes and faith firmly fixed on the Lord and the promises of His Word. Then your faith in God will give you a sure hope that Hebrews 6:19 says is a steadfast anchor of the soul that cannot slip or break down under whoever steps out upon it. Let this be your stand and victory will be your outcome.
