The Extraordinary Life

After Jesus calmed the winds and sea, His disciples were awe-struck by the display of His authority and power. This event revealed a side of Jesus they had not seen before. They had witnessed, firsthand, some pretty awesome miracles, but this display of power was on a completely differently level for them. It was evident that Jesus possessed the power to command even the elements to obey His words. That storm was demonically empowered to distract Jesus and prevent Him from fulfilling His purpose. He was headed for the other side of the Lake, where a demoniac was influencing an entire region. No wonder the devil wanted to stir up a storm to stop the plan of God. But Jesus simply stood in His authority and rebuked the wind and waves, and instantly, great peace was restored. What is truly remarkable, is that as His followers, we have been granted the same authority. Luke 10:19 says, “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” No matter how your enemy, the devil, tries to manipulate circumstances around you, to distract you from moving forward in God’s purpose – if you have God’ Word on it, you are guaranteed it will come to pass. Just hold on to that Word, stand in your position of delegated authority, rebuke the devil, and he will flee from you. This bestowed authority and power distinguishes us from the world, making us extraordinary rather than ordinary. Our re-born spirits have been possessed by the Spirit of God, and we have been given dominion on this earth. Psalms 8:6 says this about us: “You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet.” It’s time to live the extraordinary life you have been given in Christ Jesus! Know who you are in Him and begin exercising your authority over the enemy today.
