This Christmas season is a time to reflect on the absolute goodness of God and His Father-heart towards us. Look at the people around you. Notice how they are caught up in the rush of this festive season, trying to find fulfilment, but instead finding despair. See what’s really in their hearts – look beyond the façade of extravagant decorations and lavish parties. People are orphaned. Many lack the revelation of God’s abundant and unconditional love for them. There are people all around us who live in a Godless, purposeless, unfulfilled reality! The glorious truth is that the Father sent His Son to be born into the world He created, so that He would redeem and deliver us from being eternally separated from Him, and reconcile us to Himself! Jesus willingly gave Himself up and exchanged His life for ours! The moment we accept Jesus Christ as the Lord of our lives, every part of our old nature that shackled us to a hopeless existence without God, died with Jesus on that cross! Jesus who was righteous took on our sin nature and it was crucified with Him! Then, the Spirit of God raised Jesus up and we were raised with Him into a brand new life and nature! We have been given the greatest gift ever – adoption as Sons and Daughters of God! The greatest gift we can give is to introduce others to Jesus and the wonderful life of adoption we have in Him. Whichever way the Lord prompts you, present Jesus to those around you and watch how His gift of adoption transforms their lives this Christmas.
