The Golden Rule

In the kingdom of God, every principle or rule is established for a specific purpose. Just the same, each lock has a specific key to open it and allow its contents to be revealed. However, there is one key that can open all locks: it’s called a Master Key. The Bible teaches us there is one rule, or principle, just like that master key, on which every other principle hangs. It’s called loving God! When our hearts are open to receive God’s love for us, we are able to respond to Him in love, causing everything we think, say, or do to reflect that love! That’s why Matthew 7:12 is coined The Golden Rule because it’s the chief rule that unlocks the favour of God and man for all who abide by it. When the love of God dominates our lives, we don’t treat others by their standards, we treat them according to God’s standard of love. We set the example of true selfless love that is more powerful than any force in this universe and never fails. So don’t treat others according to what you feel they deserve, treat them according to the standard God treats you – with a never-ending, unconditional love that snatched you out of spending eternity without Him.
