As we study the Word of God, we quickly discover the kind of life God expects us to live, and how He expects us to live it. He sent Jesus to the world to be our perfect example. How did Jesus live? He lived full of the compassion of God and operated in great power! And He was unmistakably clothed in humility.
True humility is submitting ourselves to the authority and influence of God’s will. It’s receiving His Word into our hearts, allowing it to transform every part of us – our thoughts, words, attitudes, and actions.
If you find it difficult to sit under sound preaching and instruction of the Word without getting offended – it may be time for some introspection with the help of the Holy Spirit. Take a zero tolerance approach towards pride and arrogance; be clothed with humility so God can work in and through you, as He did in and through Jesus.
