Turn toward Your Spirit

When the enemy comes against us, if we learn to recognize his tactics, we can, in an instant resist him and become resilient in faith to overcome. The easiest way to recognize an attack from the enemy, is to recognize a change in the flow of our internal peace. When we sense a disturbance or wavering of our peace, we must immediately turn our attention towards the power-source – the indwelling Holy Spirit. Romans 8:26-27 says this about Him: “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” No matter how troubled our minds become, or how harassed they are by the bombardment of the fiery darts of the enemy – as we turn our attention and affection towards our Helper inside us and begin to pray in the Holy Spirit – He prays the perfect will of God for us and over us. It may take some time, or it may take a moment – but as we pray, with our minds engaged – the answer we need, whether in the form of a thought that reminds us of the appropriate scripture needed to declare, or a deep, overwhelming peace – bubbling up from within -God always responds! That infusion of inner strength is more than enough to energize our faith and combat the attack from the enemy. Learn to recognize the signs of the attack even before it happens, and you will be equipped to short-circuit it before it’s even launched. Practice turning your attention towards your spirit-man, where God’s power-source dwells, and the Holy Spirit, Himself will lead you to victory – every time!
