What To Do In The Waiting!

For most believers, believing in God’s ability and willingness to honour His Word concerning them, is not a problem. It’s how to endure the waiting period for the promise to be manifest in their lives, that proves problematic. Now we know that Mark 11:23-24 teaches that the moment we pray, we have what we say. Even though it’s not yet manifest in our natural reality, our faith in God has the power to take a hold of what is in the unseen world and bring it into the seen world. There is no scripture to justify the argument that God ever says, “No”, to any of His promises. 2 Corinthians 1:20 says, “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.” So, us not receiving the manifest reality of any promise is not on God’s side – because it’s impossible for Him to lie or go back on His Word.  he only time scripture records God changing His mind on a matter, involves Him giving mercy and forgiveness instead of destruction to a person, or people, who have repented of their wicked ways and turned their hearts towards Him. The Bible tells us Abraham waited 25 years before God’s promise of Isaac became a natural reality to him and Sarah. It’s true that along the way, in their discouragement, they tried to intervene and make the miracle happen in their own strength. The result was Ishmael, and the antagonism caused through his bloodline against the people of God is still very much alive today. The Bible does tell us however, that Abraham did reach a place in his faith that caused him to not waver, while he waited for his promised Isaac. He decided to take his focus off of what he didn’t yet have, and onto the good and faithful character of God instead. Abraham chose to give glory to God before his miracle was manifest. Remember, you and I can’t make what has been promised, happen. We must believe and speak the Word and trust it to do the work for us! In the time of waiting for your promise to manifest, delight yourself in the Lord, live to bring Him glory, and let the Word do what it was sent out to do! Keep your mind off the process and on the Lord, who is the prize – and that promise will be on the heels of your praise.
