Wisdom Flowing from Your Spirit

There are people who think we can’t really know the things of God. They quote Isaiah 55:9 and 64:4 to support their opinion that God conceals His thoughts and ways from His children. In truth, both these verses are contrasting the difference to what was available to those who were under the Old Covenant in the Old Testament, to what is available now to those who are in Christ Jesus, under the New Covenant. In 1 Corinthians 2:7-16, Paul explains how now, since we have the Holy Spirit living inside us, we have the mind of Christ and are able to know all the mysteries of God including the things God has prepared for us – since they are spiritually discerned (1 Corinthians 2:14).  1 Corinthians 2:16 says, “…But we have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart.” These mysteries (the hidden wisdom of God) are made known to us through revelation. Paul explained how to receive that revelation In 1 Corinthians 14:2: “For one who speaks in an [unknown] tongue speaks not to men but to God, for no one understands or catches his meaning, because in the [Holy] Spirit he utters secret truths and hidden things [not obvious to the understanding].” As Paul prayed in the Holy Spirit, he spoke out God’s mysteries and received revelation knowledge concerning them. Then, he preached what he received in his native tongue so his listeners could benefit.  As we pray in tongues when we study God’s Word, we release the wisdom of God into our minds too! The Bible does tell us to test all things, so remember to be sure that what comes into our minds aligns with the Word of God.  What a joy and privilege it is to have the wisdom of God flow so freely from our spirits into our minds whenever we need it!
