In Luke Chapter 5, we read about a group of fishermen who were out all night long. Their goal was to catch a great haul of fish, yet they had to return to shore empty-handed. Jesus meets the despondent fishermen who were exhausted after a long night’s work. They had absolutely nothing to show for it. Only a few feet away, He had been preaching to the crowd, releasing the message of faith. Seeds of faith were carried in the wind and sown into the hearts of those within earshot, Peter being one of them.
When Jesus challenged Peter to go out again and cast his net on the other side, initially, his response came from the frustration he was feeling; but then the seed of faith he received from the words he heard began to produce a different way of speaking. He stopped mid-course and said, “Nevertheless, at Your Word, I will let down the net again”. As a result, their boats nearly sank with the fish they caught!
You may be at the lowest point in your life, but if you have an ear to hear and receive God’s Word – you will not stay down! That Word will produce faith on the inside of you, rise up as a powerful force and be released through your words. Everything in your world is waiting to respond to your words of faith – make sure you speak what you believe and watch everything change accordingly!
