Philippians 1:6 (AMPC): “And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.”

The finished work of the cross allowed for God’s Holy Spirit to live inside us. Through Him, the same power that raised Christ from the dead and created the universe – lives and works in us too. What is the work that power does in us? The Bible says it energizes us, quickens our mortal bodies, and creates in us the power and desire to will and work God’s perfect plan for our lives (Romans 8:11, Ephesians 3:20, Philippians 2:13).
There is more than enough proof in the scriptures to support the truth that you and I were not placed on this earth to wander around, aimlessly, trying to find our purpose. Ephesians 1:11 says we were chosen before the world even existed, for God’s Own purpose. And that purpose is to be in Him! To live inseparably connected to Him. It also says He works out everything in agreement with the counsel and design of His Own will.
So if you are questioning what your purpose is, focus on your relationship with God. Get serious and deliberate about getting to know Him and His ways, spending time in His Word and Presence. He will show you exactly what you need to know and do, and give you the power and desire to live it out. There is nothing more rewarding and satisfying than living out His predetermined purpose for you!
