Colossians 4:2 (AMPC): “Be earnest and unwearied and steadfast in your prayer [life], being [both] alert and intent in [your praying] with thanksgiving.”
Prayer is an essential part of life for every believer. It’s how we speak directly to the Lord, and hear His voice speak right back into our hearts, through His Holy Spirit. Smith Wigglesworth once said: “I don’t often spend more than half an hour in prayer at one time, but I never go more than half an hour without praying”.
That’s because prayer is a two-way connection of clear communication – where we come to God and He responds to us, never contradicting His Word. In the book of Hebrews, we are encouraged to frequently and boldly come into the Presence of the Lord expecting to receive His grace to meet our needs.
Of course hearing His response in such a personal way, spoken into our hearts, produces praise – which charges the atmosphere with supernatural power! So get serious about spending time with the Lord in prayer, it will supercharge your faith and keep you in the centre of His will!
