When Jesus called Simon and Andrew to follow Him, their response was an unwavering and immediate “Yes”. These two men began their day as fishermen, and ended it as disciples of Jesus Christ. Initially, Simon and Andrew didn’t know the impact they would have on this world, or the lives they would see touched and changed forever as they followed Jesus. Yet, they were willing to give up all they currently knew and had through a single choice to respond in obedience to His Word.
Just the same, when we immediately and deliberately respond to God’s Word in faith and obedience, we don’t initially see the full impact that step of obedience will have on our lives, or the world around us. If Simon and Andrew had not responded to Jesus and instead remained focused on what they were doing, their names may have never been mentioned in the pages of recorded history. Their immediate response opened the way for a purpose and destiny that would shake this world.
Let your life be marked by faith to respond to God’s Word with immediate obedience. Know it will lead to a life filled with purpose and a destiny more significant than you could ever dream or imagine possible!
