When the people of Israel were violently taken from Jerusalem and driven as captives to a foreign land, to live amongst foreign people, who worshipped foreign gods, their hearts were broken. They longed for the fulfilment of God’s promise to return to their Jerusalem, where they would be free to worship Him with all their might. In tears they prayed and stood on His promise, believing their dream to return home would become a reality.
