The Word of God teaches a timeless truth that what we see in the natural is only temporary. What was once familiar and comfortable in the natural can easily be changed and become a mere reference point of the past. For the Child of God who knows God’s Word and is led by His Spirit, our confidence never comes from outward circumstances.
Our hope and joy is secured in the unchanging character of God and His irrefutable Word. The more we are rooted in this, the less we are moved by the constant change around us. The truth is, in Christ, transformation is a natural way of life for us! From being delivered from the kingdom of darkness and transferred to the Kingdom of Light (Colossians 1:13); to living transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2) – we’re called to forward momentum and higher life in Christ Jesus. Because of this, there is no need, whatsoever, to long for “the way things used to be”. The Lord is doing a new thing!
This is true both in us and through us. To partake in this, you and I must let go of what was, and choose to embrace our new life in Jesus. We must die to our old selves so that we can be raised to new life in Him. In laying down all we had been, came to know, and held on to; we can lay hold of all He is, all He knows, and all He holds dear! Embrace the new today! It’s not regression, it’s new life in Him!
