The demon-possessed man lived in absolute torment and agony. His bondage was so severe, even the thought of being free seemed impossible! Yet, at the sight of Jesus, the demon recognised His authority. He made the man fall on his knees before Jesus, in complete surrender to a power that was far greater than his. At this moment, the demoniac knew Jesus could save him. He had the power to accept and receive his deliverance. Any person under satan’s rule has the power to choose to be free when they encounter the Presence of Jesus. It just takes a decision to surrender to His Lordship and accept His delivering power that will break every demonic oppression! Jesus has given us His power and authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and disease (Matthew 10:1, Mark 3:15). As we live full of His Word and full of His Holy Spirit, we will walk in the confidence of knowing we carry the love and power of God in us to set those who are oppressed free.
