Christmas is a special time set aside for us to celebrate the most extraordinary event in history. It is a time of joy where we remember how Bethlehem’s manger became the link that bound a lost world to a loving God. From that manger came a Man who not only taught us a new way of life, but brought us into a new relationship with our Creator- God. Christmas celebrates the truth that our God is interested in the affairs of people and that He loves us so much that He was willing to give His Son for our redemption. It’s quite easy to be distracted during this season. It’s easy to be drawn into all the festivities that are void of the true reason for this season. Let’s become even more intentional to spend quality time with the Lord in prayer, and His Word. Let’s remain sensitive to the voice of His Holy Spirit. If you feel as though you’re already becoming overwhelmed by the trappings of the season, stop for a moment, steal yourself away, and thank the Lord for giving everything of Himself to leave the glory of heaven to come into our world to make Himself clearly know to us. Say from your heart, “Lord Jesus, as I remember Your birth, cleanse my heart that it might be an uncluttered, sanctified gift for You today.”
