Consider Wisely

Just like the Apostles of the early church, God has a specific, unique assignment for each of us to walk in.  Ephesians 2:10 says, “…we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].”  While God has laid out the exact direction for our lives, we have the responsibility to choose to walk in it.  It doesn’t just happen by chance or unintentionally. We are told to carefully consider the path we are walking on, constantly assessing if it aligns with the assignment God has for our lives.  Remember personal ease and comfort is no indication of whether you are on the right path or not.  Obeying God is never going to be easy for our flesh.  In truth, walking in His will is where our flesh is crucified so that our old nature doesn’t stand in the way of us being submissive to the leading of God’s Spirit. We have an enemy who’s greatest fear is to see us walk out the good path the Lord specifically planned for us to walk in.  He knows that when we are in God’s perfect will for our lives it will result in God’s kingdom advancing and his own kingdom retreating. Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne wrote this statement, “No matter how the enemy plots against you, you must be persuaded that everything you say and do comes out of obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Always do what He says, nothing more, nothing less, and nothing else.” Consider the path you are on today, because your destiny depends on it.
