As faithful children of God, we don’t want to merely “visit” the promises and blessing of God, we want to dwell in everything the Lord has prepared for us through the finished work of the cross. Proverbs 2:21says that the upright and those who have integrity get to remain in the land of promise and blessing. The word “upright” can be defined as right standing with God, it is a position we hold because of what Jesus has done for us. The word “integrity” can be defined as being undivided concerning upholding strong moral principles. We have been given a brand new nature – the nature of Christ! (2 Corinthians 5:17). So we have been made right with God! And since we are God’s children, we can live yielded to and led by the Spirit of God, who dwells in us! (Romans 8:14). Which means we are well able to walk in integrity too. This is how it works: The more time we spend with Him in His Word, our wrong mindsets begin to change. Before long, even our ways begin to change as we meditate on and acknowledge every good thing that is in us, in Christ Jesus (Philemon 1:6). When God used Joshua to lead His people into the promised land, only those who had changed mindsets of faith were able to inhabit it. Those who’s minds were still attached to unbelief and disobedience died in the wilderness, never setting foot into their promise – even when it was theirs to inherit. Make a daily decision to detach from the mindset of unbelief and set your thoughts on what is in you, in Christ Jesus. It will hold you it the place of faith, where hearing and obeying the Holy Spirit keeps you walking in the blessing and promises of God!
