Fight to Enter That Rest

Our Christian walk should be a lifetime of learning how to respond to everything God has already done for us.  We are supposed to enjoy all the wonderful things the finished work of the cross accomplished for us to have.  Fullness of peace, healing for our bodies, a sound mind, wisdom for the correct decisions, and financial provision are blessings we should be walking in. The Word of God holds all these marvelous promises and more – but unless we start taking it into our hearts and mixing it with faith – we will never see them become our reality.  In the book of Genesis, we are told that after God created everything, by speaking it all into existence by His words of faith – He rested.  That doesn’t mean He rested because He was tired or weary – the book of Isaiah says He never gets weary! The rest God speaks about is taking a position of great content and satisfaction, knowing the work has been completed! That’s because everything He created is seed bearing! He created everything with the power to procreate.  This very same rest is available for us too! Once we have received the seed of His word into our hearts, it produces the faith we need to see every promise become our reality.  Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”  So, once we understand that the Word of God we believe has the power to go to work and produce what it has promised – all that’s left to do is thank Him! Thanksgiving becomes our place of confident rest. Now, it takes effort to fight against unbelief and choose thanksgiving, to enter that rest. Which is why Hebrews 4:11 says we must labor to enter into it. Today, fight against unbelief by determining to be thankful. Your confidence in knowing God’s Word will produce exactly what it says, will keep you in a place of rest to receive!
