The Quest for Unity

Philippians 2:2 (NLT): “Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.”

In this verse, Paul expresses how the church in Philippi’s unity brought him tremendous joy. If unity in a local church brought joy to Paul’s heart, can you imagine the joy we bring to our Heavenly Father’s heart when we unite in purpose and intent? In John 17, Jesus prayed that we would be one with Him, just as He and His Father are one. He also said our sincere love for one another would be proof or evidence to the world that we are His disciples. So let’s drop our petty disagreements, grievances, and prejudice, so we can work towards establishing unity with our brothers and sisters in Christ. Remember, one can put a thousand to flight, two can put ten thousand to flight…Which means together we can do much more damage to the kingdom of darkness, than when we are alone. The time has come for the Church to do the greater things Jesus promised we would do. Let’s stand for unity in Christ Jesus and become the unstoppable force He intended us to be.
