Not Just Filled, But Led!

Jesus was a Man who was led by the Spirit. Throughout the gospels – He only did what He saw the Father do, and He only said what He heard the Father say. The apostles and believers of the early church modelled after His example and only did and said what the Spirit told them to do and say. This is how God desires us to operate and live our lives. This is how we are able to live in complete harmony with Him. It’s how we get to bring the reality of heaven into our world.

God has not just called us to be filled with the Spirit but also to be led by the Spirit. Romans 8:14 says those who are led by the Spirit are the true sons of God! This is the life God has called us to. It’s far easier than you realise. Since the Spirit of God is living inside us, He creates the desire and power to hear and obey His perfect will – one glorious step at a time.

Philippians 2:13 says, “[Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight.”  And Deuteronomy 30:14 promises, “But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your mind and in your heart, so that you can do it.” Today, make the choice to not just be filled with His Spirit, but also led by His Spirit.
