Intimate Prayer

One of the ways to become more acquainted and aware of the Spirit of God is through fellowship with Him. More specifically, fellowship through prayer. This holds great power and significance in the life of a believer. Any relationship with a person can only be developed and grown through communication. If we don’t spend time fellowshipping with one another, our relationships will not develop past a superficial level. Just the same, only praying in church, or at a weekly prayer meeting will do little to build a sustaining and meaningful relationship with the Holy Spirit. However, just the phrase prayer meeting is enough to make many Believers nervous. Thoughts of having to pray aloud in front of others terrifies most.  The truth is, when prayer becomes a regular, even spontaneous practice in our personal, daily lives – it becomes easy to focus our attention off of everyone around us and onto the Lord.  We are able to quickly tune into hearing His voice and leading, from within our spirits. A wonderful way to enrich our prayer life is by fellowshipping with the Lord as we read His Word.  The truth that comes alive inside us as we engage our hearts in what we are reading, causes joy and peace to burst up from our spirits. We literally become thrilled with what we are receiving by His Presence, over His written Word. This opens the “one-way valve” from our spirits to flow into every area of our lives!  In the moments we don’t quite have the words to express what we are trying to communicate to the Lord, we trust the Holy Spirit to take over, by praying in our heavenly language.  Praying in the Spirit is the most accurate and effective way we are able to express the perfect will of God over any circumstance, especially when we don’t know what to pray.  Allow your life to be enriched as you develop your prayer life and release the wonderful things that are on the inside of you into those around you.
