Seek the Lord

When we seek after something, we have every intention of finding what we are after. A wonderful attribute of the Lord is that He doesn’t hide away or make it difficult for us to seek Him out. The truth is, it’s impossible to not find Him because He lives within our re-born spirit-man! He waits patiently, with love and eagerness for us to make the decision to turn our affection and attention towards Him, so He can answer our questions and satisfy our needs.  Pursuing God doesn’t mean casually inquiring of Him every now and again, or only when a crisis presents itself.  It means making a choice to pay attention to Him as we spend time in His Word and in prayer each day. It means eagerly finding out the truth about His character, educating ourselves concerning His ways, and practicing to hear His voice and follow His instructions as He leads us with that still, small voice we’ve learnt to recognise.  Spending time with the Lord causes His strength to flood our minds as He fills us with faith and peace.  His power quickens our bodies reviving and healing them as we yield to its flow. Wisdom for daily victory comes from seeking the Lord and keeping our eyes on things that have eternal value.  If we could only sense the urgency of the hour we are living in now and understand the need for us to be about our Father’s business, being ever ready for the day Jesus calls us to meet Him in the clouds, we would not spend our time on worldly distractions nor yield to the works of the flesh.  Petty jealousy, insecurities, strife and the like will only hinder us from running our race with precision and efficiency.  Keep your eyes on the Lord Jesus and stay alert to the snares of the enemy so that he doesn’t get the upper hand. Become skillful in recognizing and discerning what is of God and what is not.  As we continue to seek Him first, we will keep the faith, remain strong, and not be found ashamed at His coming.
