The entire human race originated from the Garden of Eden out of the first man, Adam. We could not have come into this earth any other way except through his lineage. Adam was the ‘master’ or ‘prototype’ for all mankind. He was created righteous and with direct, personal fellowship with God. Adam and Eve were blessed, happy, victorious and prosperous; this is what they would pass on to their lineage. Adam was given the responsibility to guard the garden, take dominion, and keep the devil out. Due to his negligence and disobedience sin entered in and the ‘master’ or ‘prototype’ developed a defect. Sin, sickness, death, depression, confusion and defeat marred the master. As a result, when Adam and Eve began to reproduce, that defect was carried over and produced in every person that was ever born. But, thank God for Jesus! God, the creator, allowed His only Son to become a man, born of a woman, conceived by the Holy Spirit! A brand new seed produced a brand new humanity, a whole new creation! Jesus Christ became the new ‘master’ or ‘prototype’! When we become ‘born-again’ we inherit a double heritage! Where our old nature carried the defect of guilt, our new nature carries the sate of righteousness! Where our old nature carried the defect of being alienated from God, our new one is born of Him, we are His Own offspring! This new heritage gives us the freedom to reign in life in Christ Jesus!
