A Saviour is Born!

Luke records that an angel appeared to a group of shepherds that were watching over their flock at night. The angel said a “Saviour” had been born to them that day. When Christ entered the world, He came to save us from our sins, from and an eternity outside of knowing and being with Him. When Adam and Eve disobeyed the instruction of the Lord to not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, sin entered the world and death through sin. Romans 5:17 says, “For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and His gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.” Even though Adam’s sin brought death to mankind, Jesus brought life through His gift of righteousness to whoever believes on Him! When we celebrate Christmas, we celebrate the day our Saviour, Jesus Christ, the Son of God was born. Had it not been for Him, we would still be entangled in our trespasses, and we would die in our sins. As much as Christmas is seen as a time of celebration and joy with our loved ones, we must never neglect to celebrate it for what it is – a day to celebrate our Saviour being born!
